Academic Life

Student Services
The Office of Student Affairs (OSA) encompasses all of the non-academic student support services--admissions, registration, financial aid, housing, counseling and career guidance, employment, and health, which serve all students. OSA also administers programs that provide support services to minority students, especially Hawaiians and Filipinos, students with disabilities, senior citizens, and international students.

Academic Assistance & Tutoring
Through the Colleges of Arts and Sciences, academic advisers assist students with clarifying academic and career goals, learning about educational options and campus resources, planning a program of study, understanding academic policies, procedures and degree requirements, and assessing their academic progress toward completion of their degrees.

Students already in programs are recommended to go to their department advisors and seek special assistance.

Support for Students with Disabilities
The KOKUA program provides appropriate academic access services to UHM students with documented disabilities and renders technical assistance on disability access to administration, faculty, staff and students.

Computing Resources & Support
UH Information Technology Services (ITS) provides a broad range of computing and communications technologies that support learning, teaching, research, public services, and administration. Information technology support is available to faculty, staff, and students of the University of Hawaii (UH) system.

College of Social Sciences Computer Support (CSSCS) center provides computing and communications infrastructure, services, support, and innovation for the CSS instructional, research, public service, and administrative programs. IT works closely with many other programs on campus to provide a wide range of services for students, faculty, staff, alumni, and others.
